VHF/UHF Transceiver (RFC)
Model: FC1003
Low VHF, VHF and UHF · 10 W AM, 20 W FM/data · 8.33 kHz spacing

The RFC is a state-of-the-art communications transceiver operating in the VHF/UHF Bands. It is capable of down converting an RF input signal to an IF frequency output (receive mode) and up converting an IF frequency into the Radio Frequency (transmit mode). The RFC transmits and receives AM, FM and digital modulated signals in any channel in 25 kHz, 12.5 kHz, and 8.33 kHz intervals in the 225.00 to 399.975 MHz UHF band, in the 108.00 to 156.00 MHz and 156 MHz to 174 MHz VHF band and the 30 to 88 MHz Low VHF Band. It has an independent Guard Receiver, covering a 10 MHz frequency band around the standard international guard frequency of the relevant band.
The RFC is controlled through a high speed serial bus. It can be operated in a number of different modes including fast frequency hopping. The RFC has a very low noise figure, extremely high receive P1 dB, and superb phase noise on the internal synthesizers. In the transmit mode it produces 10 Watts of RF power in the AM mode and 20 watts of RF power in the data or FM modes.
Broader transceiver options
Beyond the FC1003 configuration, WV’s communications/transceiver family offers transmit powers up to 50 W, with AM, FM and data modulation, usually QPSK. Family offerings cover the 30–88 MHz, 108–156 MHz and 225–400 MHz communications bands, with typical 8.333 kHz frequency steps, fast frequency hopping and high-speed serial control.
Power and modulation options depend on the configuration. The FC1003 described on this page provides 10 W in AM mode and 20 W in FM or data modes. Request information to discuss a different transceiver configuration.
