Event-driven control & monitoring
WV’s Ethernet UDP/IP-based FTS equipment supports remote control and monitoring with unsolicited messages triggered by changing events. Event-driven reporting avoids unnecessary polling traffic. Verification receivers send a message when a status change or an out-of-tolerance condition occurs.
Amplifier fault tolerance
WV’s modular FTS amplifier control architecture compensates for a failed final amplifier module by increasing the output of the remaining modules. This limits the reduction in total RF output power to a maximum of 1 dB while the remaining modules operate below their maximum rated power levels.
If multiple modules fail, the controller uses graceful degradation to reduce RF output to a safe level, protecting against cascading amplifier failures while maintaining as much output as safely possible.
