JOB TITLE:  Software Engineering

WV Communication, a manufacturer of RF communications products for the military and aerospace sector, is looking for a software engineer.  WVs products fall into three development categories: 

1) Small devices controlled by an 8 bit processor, such as a PIC16.

2) Medium complexity devices, often with color LCD touchscreen, running on an x186 CPU.

3) User interface systems running under an OS such as Linux.  The first two categories do not contain an OS.

 

A qualified applicant will posses strong skills and experience working with PIC Assembly, 80186 assembly and C.  A strong familiarity with both digital and RF hardware is also required.  An understanding of high reliability programming concepts structured programming and clean coding style with good use of comments is also mandatory.  Experience with Xilinx FPGA is desirable, as is C++ and Linux experience.  Tasks include things like converting a frequency plan into the necessary code to generate the bit pattern for a PLL synthesizer IC.
